Installation instructions:

  1. Ensure you have removed all former driver per the instructions found in the manual before attempting to install this latest driver version.
  2. After downloading the file, unzip the file into an empty folder or directory on the hard drive. (If you cannot locate the file you downloaded, use the Windows Find command to search for the Macer_v1.0.zip program on your hard disk.)
  3. Connect the Macer to the computer, and select "\Win98" folder when the system ask for the driver. Restart your PC after driver installation completed. Your PC will automatically detect the Macer that is connected with provided USB cable and in power on. (This program will be found in the folder you unzipped the files to in step #1)
 
Windows ME / 2000 / XP

Windows ME / 2000 / XP has built-in driver support for "Macer". So it is not necessary to install driver.

(Note: Connect "Macer" to the computer to finish installing the built-in driver before installing the utility application, Application\setup.exe in the Macer_v1.0.zip driver file.

The latest firmware0430 provides upgrade for the menu display of the Macer from 3 languages to 8 languages.

After downloading the file, unzip the file into an empty folder or directory on the hard drive. (If you cannot locate the file you downloaded, use the Windows Find command to search for the Macer_firmware0430_z-cyber.zip program on your hard disk.)

Macer Firmware upgrade procedures:

  1. Backup all your data in Macer mp3 to harddisk or other storage device. (Warning : All the data in Macer will be erased during firmware upgrade )
  2. Use a full capacity AAA battery for firmware upgrade
  3. Extract the firmware archive into a folder, you will get two files $norfla$.ugr and $nanfla$.ugr
  4. Copy the file $norfla$.ugr to root directory of the Macer mp3.
  5. Double click the right bottom icon "Safely remove hardware"and click the "Stop" button to stop Macer hardware device.
  6. Remove the Macer from the PC. It will show "F/W upgrading".
  7. After a while, the Macer will auto shut down
  8. Re-plug the Macer into the PC again
  9. Double-click the drive letter of Macer.
  10. Format the Macer in FAT (Do not format it in FAT32 or NTFS)
  11. Copy the file $nanfla$.ugr to root directory of the Macer mp3.
  12. Double click the right bottom icon "Safely remove hardware"and click the "Stop" button to stop Macer hardware device.
  13. Remove the Macer from the PC. It will upgrade the firmware automatically.
  14. After a while, it will show "OK", and restart the Macer again.
