Installation instructions:

  1. Ensure you have removed all former driver per the instructions found in the manual before attempting to install this latest driver version.
  2. After downloading the file, unzip the file into an empty folder or directory on the hard drive. (If you cannot locate the file you downloaded, use the Windows Find command to search for the 3.1.4.15A--13Ch.zip program on your hard disk.)
  3. Do NOT connect the Wireless LAN PCMCIA Card device to your computer before installing its software. If this happens, the Windows PnP function will detect the wireless device and issue a dialog box requesting its driver. Click "Cancel" to quit the wizard.
  4. Run the "Setup.exe" file from "Utility" folder to install the Wireless LAN Card software. Follow the onscreen directions (The driver will be found in the folder you unzipped the files to in step #2)

For Windows 98(SE):
After installing the Wireless LAN Card software, plug the Wireless LAN Card into your computer's PCMCIA slot. Upon hardware detection, Windows OS will install the driver for the card automatically. If prompted, you may have to locate the driver from the unzipped "Utility" folder, \Utility\Drivers\PCMCIA\win982k, to complete the driver installation.


For Windows 2000:
After installing the Wireless LAN Card software, plug the Wireless LAN Card into your computer's PCMCIA slot. Upon hardware detection, Windows OS will install the driver for the card automatically. If you are prompted with the Digital Signature not Found alarm message, just click "Yes" to ignore it. Continue with the auto-installation or you may have to locate the driver from the unzipped "Utility" folder, \Utility\Drivers\PCMCIA\win982k, to complete the driver installation.


 
Windows XP

Under Windows XP, the operation system is already equipped with Wireless LAN Card Software, so you do not have to install extra software but only need to install the driver to activate the Wireless LAN PCMCIA Card.

Plug the Wireless LAN PCMCIA Card into your computer's PCMCIA slot. Then follow these steps to manually install the driver for the card:
    1. When you insert the Wireless LAN PCMCIA Card into PCMCIA slot, the system will display an unknown hardware message. Select Install from a list or specific location[Advanced] and click "Next" to continue.
    2. Point the directory to the folder of the unzipped drivers & utility, for example, C:\New Folder\Utility\Driver\PCMCIA\WinXP. Click "Next" to continue.
    3. The Windows now will copy the drivers from the folder or directory on the hard drive.
    4. After Windows XP copied the drivers, click "Finish"
